RUSHTON HICKMAN LET 6,547 SQ FT (608.23 SQ M) OF RETAIL SPACE TO FRESH N SAVE
Burton based commercial property agents Rushton Hickman Ltd have recently completed the letting of a 6,547 sq ft (608.23 sq m) retail unit in Burton upon Trent. Unit 3-4 Anglesey Business Park has been fully refitted and has commenced trading as an Asian supermarket under the brand of Fresh N Save Superstore.
The store will be open from 8.30am to 8.30pm seven days a week and will offer the local community a range of fruit and vegetables, frozen food, chilled items, halal meat and household essentials with the owners saying “it will be a first of its kind in the town”. Co-owners, Israr Ahmed and Sajed Hussain, said “we saw the opportunity to open a store in the town as there is a gap in the market for a ‘one-stop-style’ shop selling a wide range of goods and decided to go for it”.
Mr Ahmed commented “We chose Burton-on-Trenthttps://www.staffordshire-live.co.uk/all-about/burton as a location due to the town not having a large superstore tailored for all communities. I have a lot of experience in the meat industry and my partner is very experienced in grocery stores so we both are very confident we will make this new venture work.”
“The community in Burtonhttps://www.staffordshire-live.co.uk/all-about/burton needs a superstore like this and we have plenty of items that will attract different members of the communities. We have recruited from Burton and have employed more than 15 staff members, which will boost the economy of the town and give the customers a friendly face when they come in. There has already been a lot of interest from the public and we are considering adding options of click and collect / a delivery service in the future.”
Rushton Hickman Commercial Property Agent – Simon Walker, negotiated the lease terms and commented “The unit was previously occupied by Tile Giant as a clearance centre. Letting a unit locally of this size for retail use is a great result for our client and will no doubt be a welcome shopping choice to the local community.”
Rushton Hickman Director Mark Richardson added “local job creation is always good news to hear and this will also help generate additional customer flow potential to the other businesses on the site which include Bulmer Pet Foods, Topps Tiles and HiQ Tyre & Exhaust Centre. Bookers Cash and Carry is located approximately 100 metres away. Burton remains a busy town and it is particularly heartening to see activity in the retail sector, which has been under so much pressure recently. This property joins a list of other retail deals we are continuing to put together and is positive news for the local economy.”
