This year, SARAC is celebrating 32 years of making a difference for victims and survivors of sexual abuse in Burton upon Trent and surrounding areas. Formed in 1994 by a group of local women, the charity offers bespoke services to anyone aged over 11 years who has been affected at any time of their lives. The charity is strongly supported by local organisations and authorities, and last year, was Burton & District Chamber of Commerce’s Charity of Choice.
To mark this significant milestone, SARAC will be hosting a “Pearl Ball” at Branston Golf & Country Club on Friday 24th April, and Rushton Hickman are immensely proud to support their invaluable work in the local community by sponsoring a “Change for Life” package, which supports an individual through 1:1 support sessions and helps them develop effective coping mechanisms. We will also be attending the ball as a team to show our support.
Graham Bancroft, Managing Director, commented, “The work that SARAC do is incredible and the help and support that they can provide to the victims and survivors of sexual abuse is invaluable. In our day-to-day lives, lots of us are lucky enough to be untouched by these problems but understanding what they do really puts things into perspective and so we want to help support SARAC in any way that we can and I’d encourage anyone else to if they are able to.”
