OUR TAKE ON APPRENTICESHIPS

Why are Rushton Hickman Advocates for Apprenticeships?
Owner, Graham Bancroft started his career as a Business Administration apprentice at Derby City Council. Here he learnt to lead, manage and motivate people and also found his passion for property.

Graham Bancroft commented “Apprenticeships involve balancing the demands of a full-time job, studying and obtaining practical workplace experience which takes dedication, discipline and determination.

Our apprentice, Jade Martin is almost two years into her 5-year higher-level degree apprenticeship in Real Estate Management with University College of Estate Management which will end with her being a qualified Chartered Surveyor.

As an employer and former apprentice, I have great admiration for those who decide to go down the apprenticeship route and it gives me great pleasure to be able to provide a working environment where people can learn and grow.”

The Benefits of an Apprenticeship
Jade has summarised the benefits of an apprenticeship:

  • Earn while you learn without gaining student debt.
  • Learn transferable skills, subject related knowledge and theory learnt in lessons can be put into practice.
  • Expand your professional network via colleagues, clients and other external bodies.
  • Support received by colleagues, mentors and tutors.

Estates Gazette recently interviewed our apprentice Jade Martin and asked for her thoughts for their ‘Starting out in Real Estate’ publication, here’s what she had to say:
